A blog post about content generation...

...

On a more serious note, I've been shamefully neglectful of this blog of late, and I can tell that it's hurting my platform in subtle but important ways. The be-all and end-all of internet success is content generation, and I haven't been doing much more than tweeting at a few friends (or at least, I hope they're still my friends...)

Not that I haven't been working on writing-type things at all (though I haven't done as much as I should have). I've been outlining the sequel to 'Heaven Can Wait', and I have a blog post coming up about that (once I've finished the outline, which keeps developing new twists and areas to be detailed in). I've also been prodding and poking half a dozen people in the direction of giving me more feedback, and working up strategies to deal with the feedback I've received.

The main problem I'm having at the moment with coming up with blog post ideas is that I'm in something of a limbo, waiting for feedback and a cover image before I can pick up the thread of platform-building and pre-launch promotion. It's frustrating, because I know I'm sitting on something good (though exactly how good remains to be seen - opinions from my second round of betas have been positive but less wildly enthusiastic than the first round), but if I rush it out - and rushing things is a known character flaw of mine - I'll suffer in the long run.

So that's where I'm at and what I've been up to. I do have the mild excuse of having had really bad hayfever the last couple of weeks (and yes, my hayfever gets bad enough - even with three kinds of medication - to constitute an excuse for a poor work rate). Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to trying not to look at my plummeting Klout score. I'll try to take less than a week to get to my next post...

  1. I get it. I all but abandoned my blog for 6 weeks. Felt weird to finally post again!
